How the rates work
- Pay of ₱1,500 or less: employee 1%, employer 2%.
- Pay above ₱1,500: employee 2%, employer 2%.
- The ₱10,000 cap: once your monthly pay reaches ₱10,000, your share is a flat ₱200, no matter how much more you earn.
Worked example
An employee earning ₱15,000/month (above the cap):
- Employee: 2% × ₱10,000 = ₱200
- Employer: 2% × ₱10,000 = ₱200
- Total: ₱400
OFW, self-employed and voluntary members
These members pay both shares themselves (up to ₱400/month at the standard rate). You can also contribute more than the minimum — extra contributions grow your Pag-IBIG savings and dividends. The MP2 savings program is a separate, higher-yield voluntary option.
