Editorial Policy
Payroll, tax and contribution figures affect real money, so we hold every page on PH Salary Calculator to the same rules. This page explains where our numbers come from, how we keep them current, and how to tell us when something is wrong.
1. Official sources only
Every rate, bracket, ceiling and multiplier is taken from the issuing government agency — the law, revenue regulation, circular, wage order or labor advisory itself:
- Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
- Social Security System (SSS)
- PhilHealth
- Pag-IBIG Fund (HDMF)
- Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)
- National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) for regional minimum wages
News reports and other calculators are never used as the source of a figure. When an official document cannot be confirmed, the figure is flagged internally as unverified and is not presented as official.
2. One data file per agency
Each agency's figures live in a single dated data file that records the year, the official source and the date it was last checked. The calculators and the rate tables you see on the page read from that same file, so the numbers in a table always match the numbers used in the calculation.
3. Dates you can see
Pages that use rates show a "Last updated" date and name the agency. Articles show the date they were last reviewed. We only change that date when the content or the figures actually change.
4. When we update
- Every January — all figures are re-checked for the new tax year.
- Whenever an agency issues a new rule — e.g. a new SSS circular, PhilHealth premium schedule, BIR revenue regulation, DOLE holiday advisory or regional wage order.
- When a reader reports an error — see corrections below.
5. Corrections
If you spot a wrong figure, an outdated rule or a calculation that doesn't match your payslip, email contact@phsalarycalculator.com or use our contact page. Please include the page, the figure and, if you have it, the official document. We check every report against the official source and correct confirmed errors promptly, updating the page's date.
6. Estimates, not advice
Our calculators give estimates for typical situations. Company policy, collective agreements, exemptions and special cases can change the result. Always confirm with your HR department, the agency concerned or a licensed professional before making a decision. See our disclaimer.
7. Independence
PH Salary Calculator is an independent project and is not affiliated with BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, DOLE or any other government agency. The site may show advertising; advertisers have no influence on our figures or content.
