Quick answer: To get the maximum SSS maternity benefit of ₱70,000, you need to be at the top Monthly Salary Credit (MSC) of ₱20,000 and qualify for the full 105 days of a live birth. The benefit is your Average Daily Salary Credit × number of leave days. Estimate your exact benefit with our calculator →
How much can you get?
The “₱70,000” figure is the maximum, reached only at the highest MSC used for maternity (₱20,000) for a 105-day live birth. Most members get less — it depends on your MSC and number of days.
Daily allowance = (Sum of your 6 highest MSCs ÷ 180) Total benefit = Daily allowance × number of leave days
Leave days under RA 11210:
- Live birth: 105 days
- Solo parent: 120 days (+15)
- Miscarriage / emergency termination: 60 days
Why ₱70,000 is the ceiling
The MSC used to compute maternity is capped at ₱20,000:
- Daily allowance = (₱20,000 × 6) ÷ 180 = ₱666.67
- Total = ₱666.67 × 105 = ₱70,000
A mid-range example
A member with all six MSCs at ₱15,000:
- Daily allowance = (₱15,000 × 6) ÷ 180 = ₱500
- Total = ₱500 × 105 = ₱52,500
Who qualifies
- At least 3 monthly contributions within the 12-month period immediately before the semester of your childbirth or miscarriage.
- You notified SSS of your pregnancy (through your employer if employed, or directly if voluntary/self-employed).

How to apply — step by step
- Submit the Maternity Notification as early in your pregnancy as possible (via My.SSS online or through your employer).
- After giving birth, file the Maternity Benefit Application through My.SSS, attaching the required documents (birth certificate, etc.).

How to maximize your benefit
- Raise your MSC by paying contributions on a higher salary credit in the months before pregnancy (especially useful for voluntary and self-employed members who can declare a higher income).

- File the notification early to avoid delays.
